The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher - A Book Review

The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher Potter Beatrix The Tale of Jeremy Fisher The story is about Mr. Jeremy Fisher, the frog who went for fishing wearing Macintosh and a pair of shiny goloshes. What a sight!   He dreamt of having a dish of minnows for dinner.   Jeremy   not only lost the fish he caught, but also was swallowed by a large trout. Fortunately, he escaped from its mouth and somehow reached home before his friends showed up. They had brought food with them and Jeremy did not have to starve. An illustration from the book: Illustration Potter Beatrix This simple tale tells us about sharing and making good out of the given situation. Mr. Jeremy Fisher decided to call his friends for dinner, only ‘if’ he could catch more than five fishes. Later he ended up with nothing and had to be content with whatever his friends brought with them. The true spirit of sharing lies not in sharing when you are rich, but in sharing when you have a little. Kids, don't we share our l

The Tale of Jemima Puddle- Duck - A Book Review

The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck Beatrix Potter - House of Stories The tale of Jemima Puddle Duck is a story of a simpleton duck that fell into the trap of a fox who appeared to be well –dressed gentleman. As the farmer’s wife did not allow Jemima to hatch her own eggs for obvious reasons, (read to find it out) she went away from her farm to the woods nearby so that she can build a nest far from everyone. Guess whom she met there? A crooked fox in a gentleman’s outfit. He talked her into building a nest in his own house. An Illustration - Beatrix Potter An Illustration - Beatrix Potter “What a treat!”, he might have thought, to have eggs and a fat duck for dinner. Luckily, Kep, the farm dog, a friend of hers found out her secret and together with his friends rescued Jemima before being cooked into a duck roast. But foolishness has to be paid. All of her eggs were lost in the hustle of the fight. What I could not help notice about the story and could not help

The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin - A Book Review

The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin  Tales by Beatrix Potter - House of Stories This tale is about a tail – a tail that belonged to a little red squirrel, and his name was Nutkin…goes the intro sentence. As mentioned, it is a story about the tail of the squirrel, something that reminds you of a bush that caught fire. You least expect how the ending turns out. Nutkin is a mischivieous, irksome little squirrel, who is at its wits end and drive others nuts by speaking in riddles. Mr. Old Brown, the owl in the Oak Island as patient as he can be, lost his patience and taught him some manners in such a way that he remembers his lesson throughout his life. I bet the kid who reads this would be jumping up and down and puts on Nutkin act.   I am looking forward to read this out to a kid who is equally excited as me about such books.
